Heading off to Summer... Three years in the making

They had a great run for the title. From 2006 up to this season, they reached the NBA Eastern Conference Finals, yet they always fell short whenever they have the chance win it all. Well, the team i rooted for, the Detroit Pistons, heads off to summer in a disappointing fashion - losing the game that eliminated them - in front of their homecrowd, losing to the Boston Celtics in six games, 89-81, at the Palace of Auburn Hills, Michigan, yesterday.

It all started in 2003, when they reached they Eastern Finals for the first time since 1990 or 1991. Topping the Eastern Conference with a 50+ season wins. They were set to face the current Eastern Conference Champs that time, The New Jersey Nets. A very intense, pulse-pounding series - even if the Pistons never won a single game against the Nets in the East Finals, 4-0. Because the following year, in 2004, they had a breakout season that catapulted them to the NBA Finals for the first time since 1990, And capture the championship in five games against the heavily-favored, superstar-plagued, Los Angeles Lakers, 4-1. I thought that time they can defend the championship for at least two to three years. Well, i hope so much for the team. That one has get me.

In 2005, they have a trip back to the NBA Finals, in a battle for the ages, as the two top defensive teams in the NBA face for the first time in the history of Basketball, going up against the San Antonio Spurs. Losing the series in a heavily-battled Game 7 on the road. I thought they can regain it the following year, thinking there's always a second chance...

So, in 2006, riding their way to the Eastern Finals against the team they've eliminated from the previous year, the Miami Heat - but this time, it's them who got eliminated. As the Heat cruise to the NBA Finals and win it in six games against tha Dallas Mavericks, 4-2.

They headed to the summer with a lot of businesses to settle, signing their free agents especially the heart and soul of the team, Ben Wallace - but unfortunately, The Beast decided not to accept the Pistons offer and signed with the Chicago Bulls. That's one unforgettable event that the whole franchise won't forget for their entire lives - losing one of their most prized possessions unexpectedly. The Core of the team is destroyed, and who knows what the future has in store for them.

In 2007, they had a very colorful season, reaching 60+ wins that season, once again reaching the Eastern Finals for the fifth-straight season against the young and talented Cleveland Cavaliers. The series started with a bang, gaining a commanding 2-0 lead against the Cavs - only to lose the next four games and then again, letting go of the chance once again to reach the NBA Finals and heads back to summer re-thinking of their future with the franchise.

And now, this year, 2008, they have once again conquered the odds to hop back right straight to the Eastern Finals for the sixth straight season, locking up against the new-look Boston Celtics. They fought very hard to win the series, but as everyone expected, they lose the series in six games, 4-2, sinking the Pistons for the third straight year in the East Finals. How disapponting... How sad...

I've just read the blog on their website in Pistons.com, and the team are now clearing their lockers... Maybe, the others, clearing their lockers... for good. I don't know if everyone in the team will be back in the blue, red and white uniform next season, 'cause the management are talking about "major overhaul" for the team's future. I still hope they can still put another great run and win it all again like the last time they've won ity in 2004, those were the happy days... Some happy days to cherish for. Other players on the roster says they'll be back, but nobody really knows what the future holds for them. I hope this summer for them, they've learned a lot from the past three sluggish, disappointing seasons, for them to be able to stand again, fight back, and bring back the glory days for the Detroit Pistons. But for now, they'll be heading for the summer - empty-handed...

Merry Christmas No More....

Christmas is getting nearer and nearer. I can feel from the cold breeze of the wind. But everytime i'm going to sleep at night, i'm thinking, it's just going to be another white christmas...

Before when i was just a kid, i always make it to a point that i'll have everything when christmas comes up or even before it comes up. New clothes, toys, gadgets, everything that i want. For me, before, christmas is just full of gifts and materialistic things. I haven't thought before, it is not what the real true christmas spirit, that means sharing for all. For me, that's the real spirit.

I've grown up now, and i'm fully aware what's the spirit of christmas. What i lost is the excitement when christmas is within our grasp. Now, i never really get excited when it comes and i'll just said that it's just an ordinary day ahead of me. It's like, you realize some things when you mature while growing up. Me, i realized it now... For me, it's just going to be another white christmas ahead...

I've been away from my home for more than a year. And to tell you the truth, i have no plans of going back... forever... It's not pride what's eating up on me, it's just that i have something to prove on myself while i'm standing alone until i wear out. What i mean by wearing out is upto my very last breath of air, i'll go on with life --- alone. Well, maybe not alone, but, i'll not be in the family i grewn up. My girlfriend asks me, "When do you plan on going home?". Well, there are no plans on going back.. i just said, "Someday... and i don't know when it is... just someday...". This is the second year i'll not be spending the winter season holiday without them... And there's no big deal with that, right? Oh, well, that's life as it goes...
For me, Christmas is the most important holiday of the year and i expect anyone around the world doesn't want to miss it without their families. It's the season when you spend some quality time with your loved ones, as well as our friends and relatives. But for me, well, there's really nothing special. I might as well keep myself busy even if that special day comes. Just to forget all those miseries and problems that i've had in my life. Well, i'm not saying that i hate Christmas, it's just that... I really don't have anything to celebrate from the start, right?? That's just the way it is...
I don't know what will happen to me for the next years to come on my life. I may rust anyday, anytime, any minute running. My heart may stop beating in no time, but one thing's for sure, while i'm standing tall and strong, i'll just keep going on my life and live strong. But for me, it'll just be Merry Christmas no more...

Rotten Nation

Ahoy!! My very, very, very first entry for my blog. I'm at home right now resting. And this is my way of resting... Writing Blogs. I've been into blogging before but for some serious things that came upon me, it was sidelined for a while. But now, here i am, trying to go and write anything that comes in my mind.. Well, starting from the environment that i'm living now.
Rotten Nation. Why Rotten Nation?? Well, as what i've observed in the people of this place, it's kind of disgusting, in a way how others are taking advantage of their power. Hahaluan ko na ng Tagalog ha?? Hehehe... 'cause i love my country, that's why... what i mean by taking advantage? One time kasi i'm on my way home from cubao to luzon avenue. I rode a bus. When we reached Kamuning, there were seven traffic enforcers of the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (Naks! buo pa talaga!) who rode the bus. I looked at the conductor's face... and he's not smiling at all. Why?? Libre. Angkas. Haaaay, ang kakapal talaga ng mukha!!! And almost all of them are living in fairview, which would cost them 25 pesos each... Hayup!! The amount might not be big in numbers, but if everyday they'll do it all over again, it's a very, very large amount! GOD Damn them!! They don't know that it's a huge loss for the company.. Kasi mas iniisip nila yung sarili nila.. Selfish rednecks!!!
I was sitting beside one of the traffic enforcers who hitched a ride on the bus. The conductor of the bus shouted at the driver, "Hanep ka ha! Pinakyaw mo lahat ha?" The driver did not replied back, 'cause i know what the driver is thinking. When the traffic enforcer beside me transferred to another seat, the conductor sat beside me and i talked to him. "Ano yun libre lahat yun?", i asked him. You see, that's how rotten our nation is... It maybe just a simple matter, but, simple things are what matters most. In the Conductor's situation, they're just doing give and take. They give and give and they take whatever those "evil minions" are giving them back. I asked the conductor why they don't report it to the company or to report it directly to MMDA, but he answered back with his face of lost hope. And then he said, "Wala namang ginagawang aksyon yang MMDA na yan... No use kung mag-uubos pa kami ng laway sa kanila, kami ng kami din ang napuputukan at napag-iinitan..." They fear that the traffic enforcers would get back in them, in a much worse consequence that they'll suffer and regret for the rest of their lives. (Mr. Chairman, your people are stabbing you at your back.. And it's not good...)
I don't know kung tanga o bobo ba magbasa yang mga traffic enforcers na yan, dahil may nakasulat naman sa bus na, " NO BADGE HONORED", ibig sabihin walang exempted sa pagbabayad ng bus fare.. These hypocritic predators are preying on these helpless preys. i mean, madalas nilang gawin yung pananamantala nila sa mga ordinary buses, yung mga walang aircon, laging bukas yung door at open kung sino man ang papasok at sasakay.. Well, that's why i've said that they take advantage of their power, but for me, their just peasants. But, i grieve for the small bus companies... For the traffic enforcers, shame on them, shame on them...
I don't know why they can't produce few pesos for the fare. It's not that expensive. They work almost everyday of the week, most of the time, in my point of view, they spend their time texting, sitting, chatting with fellow demons while on the road, take note, while on the road, meaning on a very large crowd with a very observative eyes, like me.
Well, i hope there'll be changes, maybe not today, not tommorow, not next week, next month or next year, but maybe someday. I hope the public would be aware of this problem. I hope there'll be action from the authorities out there to change this kind of issue. And my last words for the morons who are still lurking out there, "Burn in Hell".
Note: Sorry for my words. Maybe others who will read this might get offended. But that's what i really feel... Peace Out! Ciao!!!!!
